Subdivision of land is the process of legally dividing a single parcel of land into two or more smaller parcels. A subdivision results in each of these parcels having their own land title.
Subdivision also includes shifting or changing the boundaries of existing parcels and this is known as a boundary adjustment and will follow the same process as subdividing to create multiple parcels.
If the subdivision is not allowable under the current zoning district, a rezoning application may be required.
Prior to a subdivision being registered with Alberta Land Titles, it much receive subdivision approval and endorsement from the County’s subdivision authority.
For subdivision application costs, refer to the County’s Master Rates Bylaw.
