Noxious Weed Control
The County employs five weed inspectors during the summer months to inspect for and control noxious and restricted weeds, and to work with landowners to manage their weed issues. Each weed inspector covers a specific section of the County:
- Blueberry Mountain / Fourth Creek
- Savanna / Silver Valley
- Bonanza / East Doe
- Gordondale / Green Zone
- Happy Valley / Woking

Seed Cleaning Plant Inspections
To help prevent the spread of weed seeds, the Manager of Rural Development inspects the South Peace Seed Cleaning Coop in Dawson Creek, BC. Normally inspections are carried out on cooperative and mobile seed cleaning plants in Alberta only, but many Saddle Hills County producers utilize the Dawson Creek plant, and so it has become a member of the Alberta Seed Cleaning Plant Association.
