Assessment Department
With the exception of agricultural land, residential and most commercial property is assessed using market value. Market value means the price a property might reasonably sell for after adequate time and exposure to an open market when sold by a willing seller to a willing buyer.
The County's assessment department is responsible for determining the value of all property within the County. Taxes are then calculated based on the tax rate established annually by Council.
