Home Support Services

Our Home Support Services Program is available to anybody in the County who needs assistance in the home. Whether you need help getting around the house, or any other kind of in-home support, our program helps people of all ages and backgrounds. 

How does it work?

The coordinator will come to your house to sign you on and do an inspection of your property then the home support worker will come and help with the tasks agreed upon with you and the coordinator, the program is set on a cost share basis which will be determined at the initial visit. 

The home support worker can help you with:

  • Changing bedding
  • Cleaning bathrooms
  • Cleaning fridge/freezer
  • Companioning
  • Dusting
  • Laundry
  • Light cleaning
  • Light gardening/plant work – up 20 minutes per visit (cannot operate equipment)
  • Light snow shoveling – up to 20 minutes per visit (cannot operate equipment)
  • Meal preparation
  • Mopping
  • Organization
  • Respite
  • Rotation of groceries
  • Sweeping
  • Washing dishes

The home support worker cannot help you with:

  • Can only go on a step stool to reach
  • Garden and yard work or maintenance
  • Snow removal with equipment
  • Travel to appointments or shopping
  • Walking/vet/grooming of pets
