Predation Management & Deadstock Disposal Information Evening

The Saddle Hills County Agricultural Services Department is hosting a Predation Management and Deadstock Disposal Information Evening at the Gordondale Hall, on October 22, 2024, at 5:30 p.m. Dinner will be included.

Mark Heckbert, with Alberta Forestry and Parks, will be presenting on topics, including husbandry practices, fencing, reducing attractants, and on farm carcass disposal, among others. Mark is a pivotal figure in Alberta's conservation and forestry sectors and has played a crucial role in managing and preserving the province's vast and diverse forest landscape. His expertise in forestry is backed by extensive academic training and practical experience. Over the years, he has accumulated hands-on experience in various aspects of forest management, including ecological assessments, wildfire management, and habitat restoration, as well as being involved in developing strategies to monitor and manage predator species, such as wolves and bears. 

The event is free, but interested participants should register before October 15, 2024.
