The wildfire danger rating for the Grande Prairie Forest Area is VERY HIGH. A Fire Advisory will remain in place for our area.  Every precaution is needed to ensure no new wildfires are started, Recent gusty winds and warmer conditions will continue to increase the potential for wildfire events in the area. Please take extra caution when working or recreating in the area. 

Smoke from Wildfires burning in British Columbia may drift into our forest area. Smoke may  be expected as large wildfires burn in British Columbia. Since March 1, 2018, Alberta has recorded 1,168 wildfires in the Forest Protection Area that have burned a total of 60,295.81 hectares. Fire Danger Rating: Very high over the province with areas of extreme in western sections. See a current map of active wildfires here.
