Welcome!

Situated in the Central Peace Country of northwestern Alberta, Saddle Hills County is located approximately 450 kilometres north of Edmonton and only 90 kilometres from Grande Prairie. The County is a medium-sized local government that offers abundant opportunities. Home to a diverse agricultural community, Saddle Hills County also contains rich deposits of natural gas and oil for which Alberta is so well known.

With the beautiful Peace River Valley forming our northern boundary and the Saddle Hills to the south, we offer picturesque landscapes filled with stunning contrasts and abundant wildlife. Elk, moose and deer are just a few of the wild animals that roam our deep river valleys, lush wooded hillsides and rolling plains.

Agricultural Disaster Area

To help accomplish this, these three Central Peace municipalities, with the assistance of ISL Engineering and Land Services, have initiated the preparation of Municipal Development Plans (MDP) to plan for future growth and development, and reflect community values.
