Community Support Programs

Saddle Hills County offers a number of Community Support Programs to help improve and enhance the quality of life for our residents.

The Childcare Subsidy provides child and day care support to eligible families who are not covered by the Provincial Childcare Subsidy. The Home Support Program provides support for seniors and disabled members of the community. The Medical Alert Device Subsidy Program assists seniors with safety. Organizations within the County may also apply for Family and Community Social Services (FCSS) Grants, to help with providing educational resources and social services, based on the provincial requirements.

Saddle Hills County also offer an annual Christmas Hamper Program, alongside our valued community partners, to provide meals and gifts to Saddle Hills County families over the holiday season. In collaboration with local food banks, such as the Central Peace Food Bank, to ensure that no donations go to waste.

There are a variety of Grants and Bursaries, from Student Bursaries to Program and Activity, Capital, Operating, Cemetery Maintenance, Cemetery Capital, and Community Sign Grants. The Agricultural Services Board also offers the Veterinary Education Bursary Program and Veterinary Innovation Grant Program, to help fill the gaps in veterinary care in our rural communities.

Other subsidies and grants also include the Water Cistern Subsidy, Remote Potable Water Hauling Subsidy, and Residential Security System Grant, to help residents with specific issues relating to their homes and properties. In 2025, Council also added the Rural School Staffing Supports Subsidy, to help with providing financial support to Educational Assistants within Saddle Hills County.

We also offer healthcare services through the Saddle Hills County Health Clinic. Resident agricultural producers can also access mental health services through AgTalk, a peer-to-peer virtual support platform, powered by Togetherall and designed for individuals in the Canadian agriculture industry.
