Agricultural Societies and 4H

Agricultural Societies

Agriculture is the heart and soul of the Central Peace Region. Agricultural Societies encourage improvement in agriculture and in the quality of life of people living in agricultural communities like ours. They develop programs, provide education opportunities, services, and facilities based on the needs of the community.

On top of this, our local Agricultural Societies organize fairs, parades, and many other community events, to encourage the community to come together and build a sense of belonging.

We have two local Agricultural Societies, in Bonanza, and Savanna. We also provide support to other Peace Region Agricultural Societies, such as the Rycroft Ag Society

4H Groups

4H programming is especially critical in a rural community like Saddle Hills County. It helps gives youth and adults life-long skills such as co-operation, leadership, interpersonal relations, critical thinking, decision making, organization, public speaking and community service.

The East-West Woking 4H Club and Savanna 4H Club are located in Saddle Hills County, and regularly participate in exciting projects throughout the area. Get in touch with them directly, by calling (780) 864-8322.

If you are interested in starting a 4H club of your own or want more information on the organization, please visit the 4H Alberta website at www.4hab.com.
