Q&A with Owner Denise Allenbrand

What made you decide to open a hunting lodge?

I had friends who would come up to hunt every year and I would feed them and we would have so much fun and so many laughs. They suggested I do it for a living as there is nowhere decent to stay in the area.  

What are the kinds of animal hunts I can expect in your area?

We have elk, bear, moose, whitetail, mule deer and waterfowl.

What hunting services do you offer, if any?

I am not a hunting guide or outfitter. I offer lodging and meals.

How early before our trip do we need to book?

It is best to book as soon as possible to get the dates you want, but it is not necessary.

Do you offer transportation to and from and local airports?

You are responsible for your own transportation.

You mention discounts for first responders and military personnel. Why is that important to you?

The reason I am offering discounted prices for first responders and military personnel is because without them, and the things they do every day, we could not do all the things we are able to do.  It is my way of saying thank you for everything they do, or have done. It's not much, but that is what I can offer.

Can you please tell us the services you offer? What is the camp like and the sleep arrangements?

We offer six beds, three full meals a day, plus desserts and snacks, and a laundry service (if necessary).

We provide WiFi, satellite TV, two full bathrooms, and central air. All meals are homemade and fresh, including breads and buns, and sandwich meat.

When you’re not managing the hunt, what do you do for fun?

I enjoy ATV riding, sitting in the bush, and taking pictures of wildlife and, of course, I enjoy hunting.
