CAP Grant Program Now Accepting Applications

The Canadian Agricultural Partnership Program is currently accepting applications for several of their grant programs. 

The Farm Technology Program supports the adoption of innovative technology that minimizes agricultural waste, optimizes farm efficiency, and encourages the adoption of best management practices in farm security. This program targets technology that is proven but not yet widely adopted, and producers are eligible to receive up to $50,000 over the program term. To be eligible for funding, the applicant must be a primary producer operating in Alberta that is responsible for input costs or agricultural crops or livestock producing at least $25,000 worth of farm commodities annually and has a valid Alberta Environmental Farm Plan.

The Efficient Grain Handling Program is an energy efficiency program intended to assist producers with reducing the overall energy use on their operations and will fund grain handling equipment and grain handling system components that shows a significant energy efficiency improvement over standard practice. Eligible expenses will be cost shared 50/50, with the maximum grant funding an applicant can receive being $100,000 over the program term. To be eligible for funding within this program, the applicant must be a primary producer operating in Alberta that is responsible for input costs or agricultural crops or livestock producing at least $25,000 worth of farm commodities annually and has a valid Alberta Environmental Farm Plan.
