Saddle Hills County Council announced this week that the County will remove the $10,000 rural potable water connection fee for hooking up to the County’s potable water system and reimburse all the customers who have paid (or are paying) the fee.

Reeve Alvin Hubert said, “Council would like to see all residents have access to safe potable water regardless of their financial situation. We hope this decision will also help contribute to economic growth in the County”

The County is in the process of contacting all the customers who have paid or are paying the rural water connection fee and will arrange to reimburse them.

Landowners will still need to apply for rural water hook up to help the County determine the most beneficial and cost-effective way to add to the potable water delivery system when it builds the next water line.

If you would like to take advantage of this opportunity and have your property hooked up to the County’s expanding rural potable water system, please let the County know by filling out a Rural Potable Water Servicing Agreement on the County website or call Manager of Environmental Services Darren Lubeck at the County office.
