  • Blueberry Fire Hall Update

    Site development for the new Blueberry Mountain Fire Hall is now underway!

    The Request for Proposal for the construction of the building is currently active, and closes on October 6, 2023. After this time Saddle Hills County Administration will review the proposals and make a selection, entering into a contract with one of the Design Build contractors.

  • FCC Drive Away Hunger $1M Match Program

    Farm Credit Canada (FCC) is marking 20 years of Drive Away Hunger by announcing that it will match up to $1 million in new donations to food security agencies in Canada.

    Drive Away Hunger has brought the agriculture and food industry together to support food banks and food security programs. Last year, it raised a record 40 million meals and FCC hopes to inspire an even bigger impact this year.

  • Congratulations to Saddle Hills County Athlete!

    Saddle Hills County’s own Elizabeth Gustafson has been named as part of Team Canada’s Santiago 2023 Shooting Team!

    The Santiago 2023 Pan American Games are a pivotal part of Team Canada’s path to Paris 2024, with the team vying for Olympic quote spots.

    Shooting will take place October 21-27. Good luck Elizabeth and Team Canada!

  • Moisture Updates - September 20, 2023

    In the 14-days since the last report on September 6, 2023, rainfall has been variable across the province with all four regions having areas that received less than 2 mm. In contrast through parts of the Central Region and along the foothills west of Fort Macleod more than 15 mm was recorded. For this time of year, this is enough in the short term to stimulate late season growth of pastures and hay land and perhaps fuel optimism for those planning fall seeded crops.

  • Pleasant View Lodge - Senior Housing Applications Open!

    A reminder to Saddle Hills County residents that applications for the new Senior Housing Facility in Spirit River, are now open!

    The new development will replace the current Pleasantview Lodge and increase capacity to 92 units. 40 units will be lodge places, and 52 units will be designated for supportive living spaces to help seniors as their care needs change.
