  • Alberta Crop Report - July 23, 2024

    After consistent ratings on crop conditions since the middle of June, the recent heat was prolonged enough that major crop conditions significantly declined from 73 per cent good to excellent last week to 55 per cent good to excellent. 

  • Asphalt Chipsealing on Range Roads 93 & 102

    Please note, that the County will be completing asphalt chipsealing to extend the life of the asphalt paving, beginning August 6, 2024, on Range Roads 93 and 102.

  • Equine Emergency Preparedness

    With multiple wildfires burning throughout the province, the Alberta Equestrian Federation (AEF) Equine Emergency Help Directory is now available online through Alberta Agriculture. 

  • Northmark Road (Township Road 764) Paving Project

    Work has begun on the Northmark Road (Township Road 764) Asphalt Paving Project, and is due for completion by October 15, 2024.

    Active wildfires recorded across the province are increasing Albertan’s risk to disruption. Upcoming weather changes may impact the severity and growth of these wildfires and prompt sudden evacuation orders. Learn what to do if you are affected.

  • Moisture Update - July 24, 2024

    Since the last report, above average temperatures have prevailed and we have experienced little widespread relief in the form of rain. During the last three weeks, most of Alberta's agricultural areas saw temperatures as high as 34-36°C.

  • Annual Ditch Mowing Underway

    Saddle Hills County’s Ag Services Department is currently mowing ditches on County rights-of-way, beginning in the Woking area and moving west in the coming weeks.

  • Woking Library Temporary Closure

    Please note, the Woking Library is temporarily closed until August 20, 2024. 

  • UPDATE: Active Wildfires in Saddle Hills County
    As of July 26, 2024, there are now seven known active wildfires in Saddle Hills County, all classified as either Extinguished, Under Control, or Being Held.
