    Moisture Updates - August 15, 2022

    Map 1: Since the last report issued on July 25, 2022, temperatures have generally remained above normal for this time of year. However for many lands across the south-half of the province, conditions have dried dramatically since mid-July.

  • Notice of Development Permit Approvals - August 30 Deadline

    Anyone wishing to lodge an appeal against this development must do so in writing, stating the reasons for the appeal by August 30, 2022 at 4:30 p.m. A non-refundable fee of $100.00 must accompany the appeal.

    Moisture Updates - August 4, 2022

    Map 1: Precipitation amounts since the last report on July 25, 2022 have ranged greatly throughout the province over the last 11 days. North West Alberta stretching from Yellowhead and Clearwater County, crossing the province East towards Lloydminster have seen upwards of 60 mm, with the most received in Beaver county in excess of 120 mm.

    White, black and Engelman spruce are native spruce trees in Alberta, and along with introduced spruce species ( Blue, Norway, Serbian, and many other cultivars) are one of the most dominant coniferous species in natural as well as in urban areas.

    The Peace River Brigade met at Cotillion Campground in Saddle Hills County before launching their Passing the Paddle trek on the Peace River. from July 22 to 28,2022. The paddlers retraced the rout of the indigenous people and settlers

    Province Announces $2 Million Grant for the Design of Regional Water Treatment Plant

    The Alberta Ministry of Transportation announced on July 20, 2022, the approval of the Water for Life grant application for the design of the Central Peace Regional Water Treatment Plant. The funding covers up to 90 percent of the costs of the project; two million dollars of the $2,222,222 needed.
