    Spring Wildfires Can Result From Smouldering Winter Burns

    Alberta Wildfire urges anyone doing winter burning to ensure their piles have been fully extinguished. If fires are not properly put out, they can spread and burn underground, even under the snow and ice, all winter.

    To avoid accidentally starting a holdover fire, it’s important to check all burn areas to ensure they are out. To properly extinguish a fire, completely soak the area with water, stir up the ashes and soak the area again.

    Earlier today we asked for your help in finding the possible source of an increase in water usage in the Hamlet. Residents were asked to check their systems for unusual water usage.

    The County has once again noticed an increase in water distribution usage over the last couple days and we are asking residents to please check your house for any running water. All sampling locations and the former school have been checked and there is no abnormal water usage at these spots which leads us to the conclusion that the increased usage may unknowingly be occurring at someone’s home.

  • 2022 Privately Owned Equipment List

    Contractors wishing to provide heavy equipment and gravel hauling services for Saddle Hills County must register with the County annually by completing and submitting a Privately-Owned Equipment Registration Form.
