Ag Drone School Takes Flight in Saddle Hills County

Saddle Hills County hosted an Ag Drone School on October 27-28, 2025, at the Fourth Creek Hall in partnership with LandView Drones of Camrose, Alberta.

Instructor Robin Harrison led four participants through two full days of hands-on learning, covering drone operation, mapping, scouting, and software applications for on-farm use. Attendees gained valuable flight experience, piloting everything from small indoor drones to large spray drones outdoors.

The course also introduced the concept of drone spraying, providing insight into its potential agricultural applications. Each participant successfully completed the Basic Certificate with Transport Canada, authorizing them to operate drones up to 25 kilograms.

The Ag Drone School provided a unique opportunity for local producers to explore new technology and expand their precision agriculture skills.

Thank you to LandView Drones and all attendees!
