❤️ Blood pressure is recorded as TWO numbers:
⬆️ SYSTOLIC (Top Number)
Pressure when your heart beats
⬇️ DIASTOLIC (Bottom Number)
Pressure when your heart rests between beats
✅ NORMAL
120 / 80
🟠 HYPERTENSION STAGE 1
130–139 / 80–89
🔴 HYPERTENSION STAGE 2
140+ / 90+
🚨 SEVERE HYPERTENSION
Higher than 180 / 120
CORRECTLY CHECK BLOOD PRESSURE BY:
✔️ Avoiding caffeine, smoking & exercise for 30 minutes before
✔️ Emptying your bladder before measuring
✔️ Sitting quietly for 5 minutes
✔️ Keeping your feet flat on the floor
✔️ Resting your arm at heart level
✔️ Using the SAME arm each time
✔️ Placing the cuff on bare upper arm
✔️ NOT talking or watching TV
✔️ Taking 3 readings-1 minute apart
KEEP YOUR BLOOD PRESSURE HEALTHY BY:
🥗 Eating a balanced diet
🏃 Exercise regularly
🧂 Reducing salt intake
🚭 Avoid smoking
😌 Managing stress
💊 Take medications only as prescribed
Keeping a blood pressure log helps detect trends early and improves treatment decisions with your healthcare provider.
Measure for 7-14 days in a row in the morning before medications and breakfast and in the evening 2 hours after dinner. Bring these numbers to your health care provider for review.
