Livin' on the Edge - February 24, 2026

Saddle Hills County, with support from ALUS, is hosting Livin’ on the Edge on February 24, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., at the Fourth Creek Community Hall. This educational event is focused on practical, whole-system approaches to grazing and land management that support long-term farm viability.

The day will feature guest speaker Steve Kenyon, owner of Greener Pastures Ranching Ltd., a custom grazing operation in Alberta. Kenyon uses extended grazing techniques to pasture cattle year-round, incorporating intensive cell grazing, dormant season grazing, swath grazing, crop residue grazing, and bale grazing. With more than 20 years of experience teaching sustainable grazing management, Kenyon has presented at conferences and seminars across Canada, the United States, and Europe.

Grounded in his mission of “Economic and Environmental Sustainability for Generations,” Kenyon brings a practical, honest, and producer-first perspective. Topics will include grazing management, riparian areas, insects, and the economics of building resilient ecosystems that function together as a whole system.

The workshop is free and lunch will be provided!

Interested participants should register here, prior to February 20, 2026.
