Nominate an Exceptional Volunteer for the Stars of Alberta Award

Nominate a youth, adult or senior volunteer who has contributed to the well-being of their community for the Stars of Alberta Volunteer Awards.

The Stars of Alberta Volunteer Awards recognize extraordinary Albertans whose volunteer efforts have contributed to the well-being of their community and fellow community members. Types of volunteerism included are those who provide support without pay to charitable or non-profit organizations, causes, and community development actions.

Up to nine awards are given annually during a provincial ceremony hosted on or around International Volunteer Day (December 5).

All award recipients receive:

  • an engraved award.
  • a framed certificate on behalf of the Government of Alberta.
  • a detailed profile on the Stars of Alberta Awards recipients webpage for one year.
  • acknowledgment through the Government of Alberta’s social media platforms.

Nominations are accepted from April 15 to June 30, 2024, in the following categories:

  • youth (up to 24 years old)
  • adult (25 to 64 years old)
  • senior (65 years old and over)
  • breaking barriers category

The breaking barriers category recognizes exceptional volunteers who are working to create communities that are diverse and inclusive.
