Northwestern Polytechnic to Offer BSE
Northwestern Polytechnic (NWP) has announced a new opportunity for aspiring teachers in the region, a Bachelor of Education - Secondary degree program will be launching in Fall 2026. The program will be delivered locally, allowing students to complete their full degree close to home while preparing for careers as junior high and high school teachers.
The four-year program is designed to support future educators across northwestern Alberta, helping meet the growing demand for qualified teachers in rural and regional communities. Students will be able to focus on key subject areas such as Mathematics, Sciences, English, and additional teachable specializations.
NWP says the new degree reflects its commitment to providing accessible education and strengthening the local workforce. By training teachers within the region, the institution aims to encourage graduates to remain in nearby school divisions after completing their studies.
Applications for the Fall 2026 intake are now open.
