Truck Fills Closed Due to Low Water Levels - What Does it Mean?

What does it mean when one of our truck fills closes due to low water levels? One thing it doesn't mean is that the County is out of water.

In order to responsibly manage water levels and consumption, especially during the drier, summer months, there are daily limits (or caps) in place at each of our truck fills, in Bonanza, Ksituan, Savanna, and Woking. This daily limit resets each day at midnight. This is done to ensure that water levels never fall below pre-determined levels, so that we can continue to provide water to residences and businesses throughout the County, even during the driest periods.

It should also be noted that each water treatment plant now also supplies potable water to County residences through the Rural Potable Water Project. This system takes priority and in order to maintain water supply to properties connected to the system, available truck fill water must be restricted.

So, although our truck fills may be closed at times, it is not because there isn't any water. Truck fills close more often during the spring and summer months as more water is consumed, especially during seeding and spraying seasons.
