Ensuring the future of Saddle Hills County and its residents has been one of Council’s goals for many years. From things like ensuring the long-term viability of our roads and infrastructure to the success of our youth and, most recently, finding new solutions to rural healthcare and internet access, providing reliable long-term solutions to access important resources like water is just another way Saddle Hills County, with the help of our G5 neighbours, is hoping to support the ongoing economic growth and sustainability of the Peace Region community. 

Saddle Hills County is pleased to announce that the greatly anticipated Saddle Hills County Health Clinic will be opening on June 17, 2024. Join us for a 'Meet and Greet' with Nurse Practitioner Palvi Sharma from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Congratulations to our new Community Peace Officer, Wayne Olson, who will be commencing his official duties today, April 12, 2024. 

Canadian Fiber Optics and Northern Lights Fiber Co-Founder and President, Jodi Bloomer-Kaput issued the following announcement re. Project Aurora and fiber infrastructure implementation.

Project Aurora will bring high-speed fiber internet connections to the vast majority of Saddle Hills County residents, with no cost hookups.

In 2021, Saddle Hills County began researching the potential of a Community Health Nurse to help respond to the healthcare needs of rural residents and reduce wait times for things like prescriptions. After much research, the County began the search for a Nurse Practitioner, hiring Palvi Sharma in August of this year.

All at Saddle Hills County were deeply saddened to hear of the recent passing of past County Reeve Tim Stone, on October 24, 2023.

2023 is set to be an exciting year for Saddle Hills County. Council continues to prioritize important infrastructure, such as our roads and access to potable water, and public safety, as well as improving our recreation facilities for residents and visitors.

Rural municipalities across Canada are grappling with the challenges of economic growth and development in the face of declining population and lack of infrastructure.
