Ag Boards Seeking Directors

Are you an Alberta producer looking to volunteer in the industry or be part of the change you'd like to see? The Alberta Lamb Producers and Alberta Oat Growers Commission are currently seeking new Board Directors. 

Alberta Lamb Producers

Alberta Lamb Producers (ALP) Board of Directors has an opening for one interim Director-at-Large position. Serving on the Board is an exciting and challenging way to help advance the industry.

There are no zone requirements for the position, Director positions may be filled by producers living in any area of Alberta.

Contributing to the Board can provide a broader perspective and greater knowledge of the industry, important local, provincial, and national contacts, and a variety of useful skills, such as governance, leadership, and project management.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Must be a sheep producer residing in Alberta
  • A keen interest in improving processes and resources for the industry
  • Ability to work with other Board members for the benefit of other sheep producers
  • Ability to make a minimum time commitment of 3-4 in-person board meetings, as well as monthly conference calls
  • No previous Board experience is required
  • A strong commitment to collaboration and growth is important, as is a solution-oriented focus

Per diem and expenses are provided.

For interim positions, an election will be required at the ALP Annual General Meeting on November 23, 2024.

Alberta Oat Growers Commission

The Alberta Oat Growers Commission (AOGC) is currently seeking new directors for their Board. 

A few of the benefits include:

  • Identifying and directing research to the benefit of the entire industry

  • Opportunities to meet influential millers, buyers, and government officials
  • Information sharing with other growers
  • Professional development
  • Reimbursement for expenses

The deadline for nominations is December 12, 2023, at 12 p.m.
