Fire Ban in Effect - May 28, 2025

Due to the elevation in Fire Danger, lack of precipitation, and high outside temperatures, Saddle Hills County has issued a FIRE BAN, effective May 28, 2025. This includes all areas outside of the Grande Prairie Forest Protection Area, including private land, crown land, and recreational areas.

Now Prohibited

  • All outdoor wood fires, including designated fire pits, backyard fire pits, burning barrels, and any wood campfires on public or private land.
  • BBQ charcoal briquettes.
  • Fireworks and exploding targets.
  • Burning of brush piles, windrows, or other debris.

Allowed (with caution)

  • Propane/natural gas powered appliances
  • Open flame oil devices, such as turkey deep fryers and tiki torches.
  • Indoor wood fires, contained within a device with a chimney and a spark arrestor.
  • Off-Highway Vehicles.

All appliances must be CSA approved and used per manufacturer's standards.

This FIRE BAN will remain in place until conditions improve.

If you see a wildfire, report it immediately by calling 9-1-1 or 310-FIRE.
