Fire Advisory - August 11, 2025

Saddle Hills County has downgraded the Fire Restriction to a FIRE ADVISORY. A Fire Advisory is also in effect for the Grande Prairie Forest Area. 

Controlled burning in the Non-Forest Protection Area, including on privately-owned land, is limited to campfires, burning barrels, and hand-piled wood, two cubic metres or smaller.

Burn permits are still required and will be issued on a case-by-case basis. Large fuel burns will not be permitted at this time.

The Fire Advisory will remain in effect until conditions improve.

Grande Prairie Forest Area Seeking Proposals for Wildfire Reclamation Services

The Grande Prairie Forest Area is seeking proposals from contractors interested in providing fire line reclamation services for the Cecil Wildfire.

Services include reclamation on creek crossings, helipads, and dozer guards constructed during the course of wildfire operations in May 2023.

Proposals will be accepted until October 3, 2025, at 2 p.m. MST.
