Evacuation Order Rescinded

The State of Local Emergency issued by Saddle Hills County has expired, as of June 23, 2025, at 6:25 p.m. and the mandatory Evacuation Order has been rescinded.  However, an Evacuation Alert remains in effect for all those in the vicinity of the fire and residents should remain prepared, should conditions change.

Fire Restriction in Effect - June 17, 2025

As of June 17, 2025, the Fire Ban in Saddle Hills County and the Grande Prairie Forest Area has been downgraded to a FIRE RESTRICTION. This includes in Cotillion Park, Hilltop Lake, and Spring Lake.

Controlled burning in the Non-Forest Protection Area, including on privately-owned land, is now limited to campfires and burning barrels. Large fuel burns will not be permitted at this time.

  • Invitation to Tender: 2025 Base Paving Projects

    Saddle Hills County is accepting tenders for 2025 Base Paving Projects, including Range Road 81 and Township Road 782 in Happy Valley, and Township Road 782 in Bay Tree. The deadline for tenders is 2 p.m. on June 17, 2025.

    Alberta is introducing mandatory inspections for anyone travelling with a boat, jet ski, kayak or other watercraft across the Province's southern and eastern borders, to protect our waterways from invasive species.
  • Fire Ban in Effect - May 28, 2025

    Due to the elevation in Fire Danger, lack of precipitation, and high outside temperatures, Saddle Hills County has issued a FIRE BAN, effective May 28, 2025. This includes all areas outside of the Grande Prairie Forest Protection Area, including private land, crown land, and recreational areas.
