Communications Network

Staying connected is incredibly important, especially in a world where digital communication is at the forefront of how we learn, connect, and do business. Reliable internet and cell service connections become even more crucial in rural settings, where vast distances can make one-on-one communications impossible and the speed of emergency response critical.

Our Utility Communications Network (UCN) is comprised of a series of high-quality CSA certified towers that can accommodate multiple service providers. It is an open market and technology neutral model where wireless service providers, including private enterprise, may become tenants on the towers without having to invest in the tower infrastructure.

Saddle Hills County has partnered with TELUS on six of the nine towers currently in operation. Three of these are TELUS owned towers, with the other three being shared co-locations. Combined, these towers provide increased service to large portions of the area, connecting County residents to important services and the wider world.

We have also partnered with Canadian Fiber Optics and Northern Lights Fiber on Project Aurora to provide affordable high-speed fiber internet connections to residents and businesses. For more information and to sign up for fiber internet, please contact them at 888-236-2947 or visit www.northernlightsfiber.ca

Other options for Internet and Cell Service providers are also available, depending on your location.
