  • Fire Ban in Effect - May 8, 2025

    Due to the lack of precipitation, and dry and windy conditions, Saddle Hills County has upgraded the Fire Restriction to a FIRE BAN. This Fire Ban applies to all areas outside of the Forest Protection Area, including private land, crown land, and recreational areas.

    A Fire Ban is also in place for the Grande Prairie Forest Protection Area.

  • Fire Restriction in Saddle Hills County - May 1, 2025

    As a result of higher temperatures and drying conditions, the Fire Danger Rating in Saddle Hills County has changed from HIGH to VERY HIGH.

    As of May 1, 2025, the Fire Advisory in Saddle Hills County has been upgraded to a FIRE RESTRICTION.

  • Notice Re: 2025 Property Assessments

    Recently, Saddle Hills County changed how they provide assessment services, switching from in-house assessors to external assessor, Aaron Steblyk and his team at Compass Assessment Consultants Inc.

    As part of this transition, some changes had to be made to the way in which assessment values were calculated for 2025, in order to align with provincial regulations and assessment best practices. This change will cause varying impacts on landowner’s property assessments.

  • Update: Spring Lake Campground Reservations

    Due to the construction work underway at Spring Lake Campground to provide power to our campsites, reservations for the 2025 season are currently unavailable and will not open before the first week of June.

  • 2025 Final Capital & Operating Budgets

    The 2025 Capital and Operating Budgets have been finalized and are now available. 

  • 911 Service Outage

    GP911 is experiencing technical difficulties receiving 911 calls. The cause of the outage is unknown, and Telus is investigating. This outage affects the ability to call 911 on both cellphone and landlines. Residents in the affected area may not be able get through when dialing 911.

  • Grand Opening of the New Blueberry Fire Hall

    Thank you to all those who came out and celebrated with us at the Grand Opening of the new Blueberry Mountain Fire Hall, on Saturday, April 12, 2025. It was great to see so many people in our community come together to celebrate this milestone.
