    The United Farmers of Alberta (UFA) is currently seeking nominations for three (3) members to join their Board of Directors for a four year term, commencing March 15, 2024. The nomination period runs from September 11, 2023 - November 1, 2023, at 4 p.m.

  • Free Oats for Saddle Hills County Ratepayers!

    The Peace Region Economic Development Alliance (PREDA)  has partnered up with Prairie Oats Growers Association to raise awareness of the value of oats, distributing over 7,500 bags of oats, courtesy of Save on Foods, to 27 municipalities throughout the Peace Region.

    September 18 to 22 is Septic Awareness Week, and the Western Canada Onsite Wastewater Management Association (WCOWMA) is urging homeowners to practice Septic Sense by considering both what goes down the drain and how to maintain their septic system.

  • Reminder: Ditching Permits Required

    A friendly reminder that permits are required for any work carried out in County ditches and Rights-of-Way.

    It is the responsibility of the landowner to contact the County prior to any proposed work.

  • Assessment for Small and Home Based Businesses Explained

    Assessment in Alberta is conducted in accordance with legislation and regulations set out in the Municipal Government Act of Alberta.

    Assessment is defined by Municipal Affairs as the process of assigning a dollar value to a property. This value is then used to calculate the amount of taxes payable.

    Taxation is the process of applying the tax rate (or mill rate) to a property's assessed value. This determines the taxes payable.
