Getting Here
Saddle Hills County is located in northwestern Alberta, bordering British Columbia and the southern banks of the Peace River. The nearest major cities are Dawson Creek, BC, and Grande Prairie, AB, and the closest airports are located in Grande Prairie, AB. or Fort St. John, BC.
From Grande Prairie: Take Highway 2 north to Rycroft, before turning west on Highway 49 (left after the train tracks). You will then pass through the Village of Rycroft and the Town of Spirit River, before reaching the Saddle Hills County border. The Administration Building is located around a 15 minute drive along Highway 49.
From Dawson Creek: Take Highway 49 east, across the Pouce Coupe River, until you reach the Alberta border. From here it is around a 10 minute drive to the Bay Tree General Store, with gas station, conveniences, and on-site boutique, or 30-45 minutes to the Saddle Hills County Administration Building.
