Historic Walking Trail

The Blueberry Mountain Military History and Community Walk honours the legacy of local resident Col. James Riley Stone, who established the Military Police Fund for Blind Children, as well as the 42 other veterans from the area who served across multiple conflicts, including the Boer War, WW1, WW2, and the Korean War.

Located in the heart of Blueberry Mountain, this engaging trail meanders through the historic old town site, bringing the past to life with stories of the buildings that once stood here and the remarkable people who called this place home. The walk begins at the Military History Display Building at the Blueberry Mountain Hall, featuring educational exhibits that are a tribute to the region's proud military legacy, and ends at the Munro Presbyterian Church. Along the outdoor pathway, you'll find nine storyboards, each offering a glimpse into the community's history, blending tales of resilience, heritage, and remembrance.
