Program & Activity Grants Distributed
Saddle Hills County has announced the award of grants to several local applicants as part of its Program and Activity Grants initiative. The grant has three intake dates per year, with this being the first intake for 2026.
The program seeks to empower residents and organizations with innovative program ideas. As part of this cycle, Council awarded a total of $36,250 to twelve recipients, across various sectors.
The projects include a mix of educational programs, community events, youth outreach, and workshops.
Among the recipients

Blueberry Mountain Goodwill Society - receiving $5,000 for for costs associated with hosting a Mother's Day Bingo event as well as the purchase of outdoor volleyball and basketball nets.

Bonanza School - receiving $4,000 for the purchase of a multitude of musical instruments.

East West Woking 4-H Club - receiving $2,500 for the Achievement Day expenses for 4-H members.

River Bend Jr. Cattlemen’s Club - receiving $2,000 for a variety of activities that teach youth members hands on life skills.

Rycroft Community Library - receiving $2,250 for a series of events held at the library and youth programming

Savanna 4-H Multi Club - receiving $4,000 for the Achievement Day expenses for 4-H members.

Savanna Agricultural Society - receiving $2,500 for the Annual Easter celebration and Egg Hunt.

Savanna School - receiving $8,000 for costs associated with free participation for students in extracurricular team sports, Kindergarten to Grade 6 swimming lessons, and the purchase of tents for the Outdoor Education Program.

South Peace Rural Community Learning - receiving $1,500 towards the Family Literacy Program to take place in Gordondale and a Basic Digital Program Run to take place in Woking.

Spirit Arts Dance Society - receiving $2,000 to support structured, inclusive, and affordable dance programming.

Spirit River Minor Hockey Association - receiving $1,000 for costs associated with hosting the All Peace Year End Hockey Tournament for the U15 female division.

Woking Willing Workers - receiving $1,500 for their Mother's Day Brunch event.
