Fire Advisory in Effect
As a result of the lower outside temperatures, Saddle Hills County has downgraded the FIRE RESTRICTION to a FIRE ADVISORY.
Under this Advisory, Burn Permits will be issued on a case-by-case basis and only for essential purposes.
Campfires in non-combustible manufactured firepits, charcoal briquettes in approved barbeques, portable propane firepits, gas or propane stoves and barbeques, catalytic or infrared style heaters, wood fires in an enclosed facility or device which has a chimney with a spark arrestor, and burning of hand-piled agricultural brush and wood debris (max 2 cubic meters) are allowed, with caution.
Burning barrel use is also permitted at a minimum distance of 30m away from structures and 6m away from combustible materials. Off Highway Vehicles are also permitted.
Open campfires in back country or random areas, fireworks and exploding targets on crown land, burning of larger (machine-piled) wooden debris, and controlled burns of larger brush piles or windrows are NOT ALLOWED.
Range Road 72 from Township Road 800 to Township Road 794 will be closed from September 20, 2024 to October 15, 2024, due to a bridge culvert replacement on the Letersky Drainage Ditch.
Please note, the Dunvegan Boat Launch will be closed from September 16, 2024, due to construction. The boat launch is anticipated to re-open on September 20, 2024. For more information, contact Director of Operations, Ron Pelensky, at (780) 864-3760.
Please note, that the deadline for 2024 property taxes, July 31, has now passed. As of August 1, 2024, a 6% penalty has been applied to the current year's outstanding tax balance. Payments can be made online through most financial institutions or you can visit us in the office. We accept debit cards, credit cards, and cheques.
