Volunteer Appreciation

At Saddle Hills County we are incredibly grateful for the hard work put in by members of our community to make our home an amazing place to live. From Volunteer Firefighters and Medical First Responders, to Community Groups and OrganizationsSchool Groups, neighbours, and individuals, we appreciate the help provided at every level.

Every year the County provides opportunities for volunteer appreciation, recognizing the contributions and achievements of community members. Each of the five Volunteer Fire Departments has an annual event of their choosing, typically around Christmas, provided by the County, and a yearly Volunteer Appreciation BBQ is held at Moonshine Lake Provincial Park, with recognition given to both the volunteer first responders and nominated members of the community.

Volunteers are nominated by other members of the community, using our Volunteer Nomination Form, providing details of their contributions, which are then published online and in print. Nominated volunteers are invited to the annual BBQ where there is a supper and door prizes available, as well as a presentation by the Reeve and Council.
