Christmas Hamper Program

Saddle Hills County runs an annual Christmas Hamper Program, accepting donations of food or cash for families in need during the Christmas season.

Typically food items include all the ingredients required to make a Christmas Dinner for the recipient and their family, including a frozen ham or turkey, as well as gifts for any children in the household, and assorted additional items, such as hygiene products, quilts, and item donations.

Food items needed generally include:

  • Boxed Mashed Potatoes
  • Gravy Mix
  • Cranberry Sauce
  • Dream Whip
  • Pie Filling
  • Pie Crusts
  • Boxed Stuffing
  • Biscuit Mix
  • Canned Vegetables

Every year we are left speechless by the generosity of local donors including, farmers, small businesses, local community members, and companies. The program would not be as successful as it is without their help and commitment.

Dates for Nominations and Applications for 2024 Christmas Hampers will be announced later in the year.

You can request a hamper personally or nominate another family or individual to receive one, each year using our Christmas Hamper Application. Copies of applications and details are also left at our local general stores and convenient community locations. Christmas Hamper Applications are advertised online and through the Central Peace Signal.

Leftover food items are donated to the Central Peace Food Bank, located in Rycroft, and serving Saddle Hills County residents.
