2026 Blue Book Now Available for Pre-Order

Alberta farmers and agronomists can now pre-order the 2026 edition of The Blue Book: Alberta’s Crop Protection Guide, a trusted and longstanding resource for crop protection information.

Produced collaboratively by Alberta Canola, Alberta Grains and Alberta Pulse Growers, The Blue Book provides more than 700 pages of comprehensive crop protection guidance. The publication includes detailed pesticide application information, spraying guidelines, and farm safety recommendations tailored specifically to Alberta growing conditions.

First published in 1977, The Blue Book has become an essential reference for producers across the province. Selecting the right chemical treatment requires an understanding of cropping systems, pest pressures and intended markets. The Blue Book complements product labels by providing the additional context farmers need to make informed decisions that protect both crops and profitability.

The guide is reviewed and updated annually to ensure producers have access to the most current information available. Updates from crop protection companies, along with new product additions, are incorporated into each edition.
