Alberta Local Food Week
Support local producers this Alberta Local Food Week!
Spend this Alberta Local Food Week meeting local farmers and entrepreneurs who work to put nutritious food on our plates, and show support for all things grown, made, and harvested in Alberta.
Our hard-working local farmers produce some of the best quality foods you can find, with the highest standards of food safety, animal care, biosecurity, and environmental stewardship. Support your local farmers and shop local, this week and every week.
Alberta Local Food Week is a great opportunity to enjoy some delicious local food:
- visit an Alberta Approved Farmers' Market in your area, such as the Bay Tree Market on 49.
- pick your own fresh fruit and vegetables at a u-pick farm, such as Peace River Petals.
- plan your ultimate local food experience at Alberta Open Farm Days
- promote and follow the local food conversation to see events, activities, and celebrations using #ABLocalFood.
Alberta Local Food Week occurs each year during the third week of August, tying into Alberta Open Farm Days, giving Albertans a chance to visit local farms and experience where their food comes from.
