Be Prepared: Shelter in Place
Summer thunderstorms, tornadoes and extreme winds are common hazards in Alberta that may require you to shelter in place. #BePrepared by:
- Making a plan for what your household would do if you had to shelter in place. Practice sheltering in place with your pets too.
- If you live in a mobile home, identifying a nearby building with a solid foundation in advance that you and your loved ones could shelter in.
- Gathering supplies that will sustain your household for at least 72 hours. Place them in an easily accessible area.
Preparing for emergencies in advance helps you and your loved ones build resilience during sudden and uncomfortable situations. Learn more on how you can build resiliency with Be Prepared programming and resources.
