Fire Restriction in Saddle Hills County - May 1, 2025

As a result of higher temperatures and drying conditions, the Fire Danger Rating in Saddle Hills County has changed from HIGH to VERY HIGH.

As of May 1, 2025, the Fire Advisory in Saddle Hills County has been upgraded to a FIRE RESTRICTION. The County of Grande Prairie No. 1 and the Grande Prairie Forest Area also have Fire Restrictions in effect.

Controlled burning in the Non-Forest Protection Area, including on privately-owned land, is now limited to campfires and burning barrels. Large fuel burns will not be permitted at this time.

This FIRE RESTRICTION will remain in place until conditions improve.

The Rural Municipalities of Alberta (RMA) has partnered with ABMunis to deliver the Running for Municipal Office Campaign, designed to provide prospective candidates and Albertans with resources and educational opportunities in advance of the 2025 Municipal Election. As part of this campaign, the associations are co-hosting a series of live, interactive webinars tailored to rural audiences. These sessions will feature current elected officials who will share their experiences, answer questions, and offer valuable insight into the realities of municipal governance.

The rural-focused webinars will take place on the following dates:

  • Wednesday, May 7, 2025 - 7:30-8:30pm MT 
  • Thursday, June 5, 2025 - 12:00-1:00pm MT
  • Tuesday, June 17, 2025 - 7:30-8:30pm MT 
  • Friday, July 18, 2025 - 12:00-1:00pm MT
