Nominate a Community Hero for the 2025 Stars of Alberta Award

Nominations are open for the 2025 Stars of Alberta Volunteer Awards, helping to shine a spotlight on community heroes across Alberta.

The prestigious Stars of Alberta Volunteer Awards celebrates individuals who give their time, energy, and talents to improve the lives of others in communities throughout Alberta. Two awards are presented each year, in the following categories:

  • Youth (up to 24 years)
  • Adult
  • Senior

There are also awards presented in the Breaking Barriers category, to honour volunteers who are working to build diverse and inclusive communities. Three awards are presented in this category to individuals who:

  • Fight Racism
  • Advocate for LGBTQ+ Inclusion
  • Combating Gender Discrimination Challenges

All winners receive an engraved plaque, a framed certificate from the Government of Alberta, a detailed profile on the Stars of Alberta Volunteer Award webpage (for one year), and a message of appreciation on the Alberta government's social media platforms. 

The nomination period opened on April 28, 2025, and closes on June 30. Recipients will be announced on December 5, 2025, in celebration of International Volunteer Day.
