PUBLIC SAFETY NOTICE: Cougar Sighting
PUBLIC SAFETY ANNOUNCEMENT
Issued by Saddle Hills County – Cougar Sighting
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Saddle Hills County is advising residents and visitors to use caution after reports of ongoing cougar activity at Moonshine Lake Provincial Park.
According to the park’s maintenance supervisor, a cougar has been frequenting the area over the past several months. A fresh deer kill discovered along the park road earlier today indicates recent activity and confirms the animal remains in the vicinity.
County officials note that cougars can pose a particular risk to small pets and children. As a precaution, warning signs have been posted throughout the park.
Visitors are encouraged to remain alert, keep pets on a leash, closely supervise children, and avoid the area if possible.
Saddle Hills County will continue to monitor the situation and share updates as more information becomes available.
