Fire Advisory - August 11, 2025

Saddle Hills County has downgraded the Fire Restriction to a FIRE ADVISORY. A Fire Advisory is also in effect for the Grande Prairie Forest Area. 

Controlled burning in the Non-Forest Protection Area, including on privately-owned land, is limited to campfires, burning barrels, and hand-piled wood, two cubic metres or smaller.

Burn permits are still required and will be issued on a case-by-case basis. Large fuel burns will not be permitted at this time.

Young Agrarians Business Bootcamp for New Farmers

Are you a new or aspiring farmer looking to start or grow your business?

Join the Young Agrarians Business Bootcamp for New Farmers and gain practical insights into writing your own farm business plan. This 11-week online course will cover everything from writing a mission statement to creating a financial plan and defining a marketing strategy. The Business Bootcamp is a great place to explore the viability of your farm dream, figure out details for your first growing season, or to investigate adding another enterprise to your current farm. 

The course runs from October 1 to December 10, 2025. Live sessions will be held on Wednesday evenings, from 6-8 p.m. MST.

Registration costs $250-350.
