Garbage and Recycling
Saddle Hills County operates a multifaceted waste and recycling system which provides for the diverse needs of residents, businesses and industry in the County. Through a combination of garbage collections sites, transfer stations and a number of programs, including Single Stream Recycling and our Oil Recycling Program, we strive to answer the needs of all ratepayers and stakeholders to the best of our ability.
Each of our Transfer Stations has collection bins outside of the gates to accommodate residents who cannot visit the during its regular operating hours (excluding Gundy). All of our Gabarge Collection Sites are available 24-7.
To ensure that both our Transfer Stations and Garbage Collection Sites are as clean and safe as possible, we ask that those who use them refrain from dumping inappropriate materials or household waste outside of full or overflowing bins.
We collect many items through our Garbage and Recycling programs and a list is available at each of our Transfer Stations and online.
If the options available in Saddle Hills County are not sufficient for your requirements, residents may also dispose of their waste for free at the Clarimont Landfill, located in the County of Grande Prairie, through a Landfill Tag System. To obtain a tag, please register with Saddle Hills County by calling us at (780) 864-3760 or sending us an email.
If you have any questions regarding garbage or recycling, please contact Environmental Services at (780) 864-3760 or EnvSrvcs@saddlehills.ab.ca.
