Property Taxes

Anyone who owns property in Alberta has to pay Property Tax.

Our Corporate Services department is responsible for collecting Property Taxes for Saddle Hills County, and the Education Property Tax for the Government of Alberta.

Property Taxes collected are used to provide services that benefit the community at large, including road construction and maintenance, weed control, municipal development, fire protection, water and sewer services for the Hamlet of Woking, and potable water infrastructure in rural areas of the County.

Property Taxes are levied once per year, before July 1, and payment is due before August 1. Your Property Tax Notice will be mailed out to you at this time. A penalty of 6% of the current year's tax bill is applied if payment is not received by this date. A further penalty of 6% is applied if payment is not received before November 1. An additional penalty of 6% of the entire outstanding balance is applied if payment is not received before January 1.

We offer several ways to pay your property taxes, online, over the phone, or in person, as well as Property Tax Payment Plans

You can also request a Property Tax Certificate, for a small fee, for property located within Saddle Hills County.
