Fire Advisory in Effect - April 16, 2025

As a result of the high temperatures and drying conditions, the Fire Danger Rating in Saddle Hills County is now HIGH.

In response to this, Saddle Hills County has issued a FIRE ADVISORY, along with other local municipalities.

Controlled burning in the Non-Forest Protection Area, including on privately-owned land, is now limited to campfires, burning barrels, and hand-piled wood, two cubic metres or smaller.

Burn permits are still required and will be issued on a case-by-case basis. Large fuel burns will not be permitted at this time.

The Fire Advisory will remain in effect until conditions improve.

On Wednesday, May 7, 2025, at 1:55 p.m., there will be a test Emergency Alert across the province of Alberta. 

This test alert will sound on your mobile device. This is to help prepare the system, and the public, in the event of an emergency.
