Gordondale
The Gordondale School District was formed in 1937, when the district realized the need for a school. To accommodate the need, Stewart Peter’s home was converted and rebuilt by the road, on SW 09-79-10 W6.
Mr. Julius Peerenboom made desks for the school out of lumber from Mike Koloskys mill. The first teacher was Phyllis Williams, who worked for $840 a year and paid $25 per month room and board to the Magnus MacKay family. In 1938-39, classes were taught by Miss Harriot Leslie.
In 1940, a new school was built by Norman Day. The Gordondale School was eventually closed as a result of consolidation with the Spirit River School Division.
